Objective: Design an interactive and detailed amusement park map using ArcGIS Pro to enhance visitor navigation, highlight attractions, and manage crowd flow effectively.

Data Collection and Setup:

  1. Initiate New Project: Open ArcGIS Pro and create a new project titled "Amusement Park Mapping."
  2. Import Park Layout: Include base maps and existing park layout plans with detailed layers of attractions, walkways, and facilities.
  3. Gather Visitor Data: Import data on visitor traffic patterns, peak times, and popular attractions.
  4. Organize Data Layers: Categorize data layers for attractions, facilities, and traffic flow for streamlined management.


Spatial Analysis for Park Optimization:

  1. Analyze Traffic Flow: Use the "Flow Mapping" tool to visualize visitor movement patterns and identify congestion areas.
  2. Attraction Popularity Assessment: Apply "Heat Map" analysis to determine the most visited attractions.
  3. Facilities Optimization: Assess the placement of facilities such as restrooms and food courts to ensure they meet visitor needs and accessibility.


Map Design and Interactive Features:

  1. Layout Drafting: Use "Map Notes" to sketch out new pathways or attraction sites based on analysis.
  2. Enhance Map Aesthetics: Apply thematic styling to differentiate between types of attractions, paths, and areas (e.g., family, thrill, dining).
  3. Add Interactive Elements: Incorporate QR codes that visitors can scan to get real-time information on attraction wait times or show schedules.


Visualization and Presentation:

  1. Create 3D Models: Generate 3D visualizations of new attractions or redesigned areas for stakeholder preview.
  2. Develop an Interactive Map Application: Use ArcGIS Online to create a web-based map application that visitors can access from their mobile devices.
